Position Description
Exciting Opportunity in Neurodegenerative Research at the Department of Cell Systems & Anatomy, UT Health San Antonio! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for an immediate post-doctoral position. As a Post-Doctoral Researcher in our lab, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The focus of your research will be on unraveling the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions, with a specific emphasis on exploring the roles of various modalities of cell death, such as ferroptosis, in neurodegeneration. You will be tasked to conduct cutting-edge research using mouse models of AD and ALS as well as various cell models of neurodegeneration, define and characterize the molecular mechanisms associated with neurodegenerative diseases, and collaborate with a dynamic team of researchers to contribute to ongoing projects.
Position Requirements
Ph.D. degree in disciplines of Biological Sciences. Prior research experience in neuroscience or neurodegeneration. Proficient in molecular and cell biology techniques. Previous experience working with rodent models is highly desirable.
