Postdoctoral Position to Investigate Drivers of Disparities in Aging and Cardiovascular Disease

Posted Date:

Position Description

A postdoctoral position is immediately available to study the contributors to adverse aging trajectories and excess cardiovascular disease burden among socially disadvantaged populations, focusing on disparities among racial minority populations and rural communities. This position is supported by the Cardiovascular Disparities and Prevention Research Program led by Dr. Shreya Rao in the Division of Cardiology, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The Disparities and Prevention Research Program focuses on epidemiological research with a focus on deep cardiovascular phenotyping to identify unique and novel markers of cardiovascular risk in high-risk populations. The lab utilizes cardiovascular exercise phenotyping and body composition to study the relationship between cardiovascular fitness and long-term cardiovascular risk.

Position Requirements

Candidates should have or be expecting a Ph.D. or M.D. equivalent degree. Researchers with previous experience in epidemiological methods and cardiovascular disease are preferred. Candidates from the broad biomedical and public health research areas are also encouraged to apply.
